On the final day of Institute’s program for the Stockholm Design Week, we are proud to host the first international presentation of Nunziatella, the new design piece conceived by Emma Silvestris and produced by Alessi, the most famous Italian design brand. Nunziatella was born to unite two Italian pillars: food and design. Emma Silvestris’ latest design is an exclusive for Mozzarella di Bufala Campana DOP. The form of this evocative mozzarella container reminds of buffalo horns and the soft lines of Italy’s most typical cheese.
On the same day, the Institute also hosts the finissage of TUTTO.Leonardo, the site-specific installation conceived by the Italian artist Mariangela Levita, and the presentation of the limited edition of vinyl record realized by the artist Mariangela Levita in collaboration with the techno composer Domenico Crisci.
As the façade transforms in a rhythmical sheet music of colors, the video transforms Leonardo’s concept into a chromatic alphabet where art is mute poetry, poetry is blind art and music is the symbolic of invisible things, also materially transcribed in 22 tables that form ideal sheet music. On the occasion of Stockholm Design Week, Mariangela Levita presents the limited edition of vinil record. While, in some way, admitting to the superiority of the eye, or of the eyesight, as compared to the other senses, Levita gives music a fundamental in her work, translating letters into colors and colors into sounds. To crown this total vision of art, the artist, in collaboration with the techno composer Domenico Crisci, has produced a vinyl record with a double track, inspired by Leonardo’s mechanical drum in a limited edition: 10 items for each of the six basic colors. In an era where painting is considered to be “ancient language” if not obsolete, Mariangela Levita who is used to exhibiting her art in public spaces and the work of whom is in symbiosis with architecture, is a painter sui generis – in the sense that she often leaves her painting-brush to use the pantone instead and lets symbols transform into electronic bits. Based on Leonardo’s perception that art is a mental process, TUTTO.Leonardo embraces the concept of all-embracing art, which is a characteristic trait for the artist Gio Ponti, thus applying this line of thought in a concrete manner, i.e. that the entire world must be colourful.
