Each Autumn, around Giuseppe Verdi’s birthday on 10 October, when his two hometowns of Parma and Busseto in Italy vibrate with unique colours and fragrances that speak to our collective imagination, Festival Verdi comes to life: a full month of music, opera, exhibitions and conferences to celebrate the great Maestro in his native lands.
Festival Verdi is the only festival exclusively devoted to studying and staging the works of Giuseppe Verdi. It was inaugurated by the Fondazione Teatro Regio di Parma in 2001, one hundred years after Verdi’s death.
The Italian Cultural Institute, ENIT Italian National Tourist Board and Festival Verdi in collaboration with the Cultural Department of Emilia-Romagna Region with the sponsorship of Parma Incoming Festival Verdi Tour operator partner and Emilia-Romagna Region Tourist Board launch the FESTIVAL VERDI 2017 by invitation only.
Anna Maria Meo, General Manager of the Teatro Regio di Parma and Nicoletta Perusin, marketing manager of Parma Incoming will intervene to describe the richness of Parma – UNESCO Creative City for Gastronomy and its surrounding area, in one of Italy’s most beautiful regions.
The presentation is accompanied by arie verdiane performed by voice and piano. Drinks and canapés from the Emilia-Romagna Region.
