In Tempore Belli trio – Stockholm Tour

In Tempore Belli Trio

From July 22nd to July 24th, the trio In Tempore Belli will perform in three evocative Swedish churches – Årsta kyrka (July 22nd, 2 p.m.), S:ta Gertrud – Tyska kyrkan (July 23rd, 6 p.m.), and Ekerö kyrka (July 24th, 7 p.m.) – with a programme featuring Baroque masterpieces. The concerts are organised with the support of our Institute.

The In Tempore Belli trio, composed of Emma Baiguera, Francesco Molmenti and Davide Moneta, was formed in Milan in March 2020 during the lockdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The project came to life under the guidance of Maestro Molmenti with the aim of exploring the Baroque repertoire through the lens of the guitar trio, with a particular focus on historically informed performance practice. The group has distinguished itself for the quality of its transcriptions and interpretations, releasing an album dedicated to J.S. Bach for Da Vinci Publishing in 2021.

‘In Tempore Belli’ is a musical journey through the works of three central figures of European Baroque: Antonio Vivaldi, Jean-Philippe Rameau and Johann Sebastian Bach. The programme also includes a tribute to Luigi Boccherini, with the performance of the lively Introduction and Fandango, a piece famous for its energy and rhythmic originality.

The trio offers a colourful and dynamic interpretation, highlighting the transparency of the contrapuntal lines and the stylistic variety of the selected works. The guitars, in their chamber music dimension, produce an intimate and engaging sound, capable of reviving the elegance and theatricality of the Baroque period.

Emma Baiguera (guitar)

Born in 1999, she graduated with honours and distinction from the Conservatorio “G. Verdi” in Milan, under the guidance of Maria Vittoria Jedlowski. Her thesis explored the female guitar repertoire, a theme that is a common thread running through her artistic and research activities. She combines her concert activities with a constant commitment to the study of 20th-century female composers and contemporary music. She is co-founder of the Artemis Duo, flute and guitar, an ensemble dedicated to promoting music written by women. In 2024, she released Ladies of the Six Strings (Da Vinci Publishing), an album entirely dedicated to female composers. She is completing her training as a music therapist at the CMT in Milan.

Francesco Molmenti (guitar)

Born in 1981, he teaches at the Conservatories of Cremona and Cagliari. He began his studies under the guidance of L. Pizzutel and graduated with honours from the “G. Tartini” Conservatory in Trieste in the class of Maestro F. Zigante. His training is broad and multidisciplinary: he has studied composition and orchestral conducting in depth, and has obtained two degrees cum laude in musicology and a PhD from the University of Pavia (Cremona campus). He has won numerous national and international guitar competitions. He has recorded for the Dynamics and Da Vinci labels. Within the trio, he also acts as editor of the transcriptions, combining philological rigour with interpretative sensitivity.

Davide Moneta (guitar)

Born in 1997, he obtained his second level diploma at the ‘Vecchi-Tonelli’ Conservatory in Modena in the class of Maestro Andrea Dieci. He also completed a training course in music applied to images at the NAM in Milan. Active in chamber music and as a soloist, he participates in musical projects with different repertoires and ensembles. He is also a freelance sound designer for audiovisual productions. He has won awards in several competitions, recorded three albums and edited a publication dedicated to transcriptions for guitar trio of works by J.S. Bach. His work combines interpretative rigour, stylistic versatility and a keen attention to sound.
