Gio Ponti/Roberto Sambonet. Il cuore dei Ponti per i Sambonet

On the occasion of Italienska Kulturinstitutet 61 år, the 61st anniversary of our Italian Cultural Institute designed by Gio Ponti, we host the exhibitionGio Ponti/Roberto Sambonet. Il cuore dei Ponti per i Sambonet”.

The exhibition presents a collection of drawn letters, written by Gio Ponti and addressed to Roberto Sambonet. These letters are part of the Roberto Sambonet collection, that today is curated by CASVA – Centro di Alti Studi sulle Arti Visive in Milan. The unpublished drawings on display contribute to define a new significant piece of the artistic and architectural history of the second half of the 20th Century, that still need to be completed.

Maria Fratelli introduces the exhibition, first presented at the Il Salone del Mobile in Milan in 2017, and the work of CASVA – Centro di Alti Studi sulle Arti Visive. Since 2014, Maria Fratelli is the director of Unità Case Museo and she curates special projects for the Municipality of Milan. Since 2015 she has been the manager of Casa della Memoria. Graduated in Modern Literature at the University of Milan and specialized in Archeology and Art History at the University of Siena, she earned an EMMPF Master’s degree at Politecnico in Milan.
