Lost (and found) in translation (EN)

The Italian Cultural Institute in Stockholm manages two programmes to support the translation of Italian books into foreign languages, one from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and one from the Lerici Foundation. The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation promotes the dissemination of Italian publications abroad by granting subsidies for translation, which represents a strategic tool in the promotion of Italian language and culture abroad. In 2018, 4 contributions were assigned to Swedish publishers. The C.M. Lerici Foundation supports the translation of Italian and Swedish texts of different genres. Thanks to the heritage of Carlo Maurilio Lerici, the foundation – that still today bears his name – has supported the translation and publication of hundreds of books over the last 50 years. In this seminar you will learn more about these programmes and how to apply.

Speaker: Mrs. Maria Sica, director of the Italian Cultural Institute in Sweden.
