On the occasion of the Stockholm Design Week 2019, ”Milano Design Film Festival World Tour” brings to Stockholm the best films about Italian design and architecture. These inspiring, educational and entertaining films and documentaries by independent filmmakers from all around the world deal with architecture, design, the idea of city and sustainability.
Creativity, new functional solutions, interpretations of archetypal and exemplary figures, unique production processes, poetic narration, experimentation, craftsmanship: these are some of the aspects that bridge the old and new generations of the design Made in Italy. They make up the language of forms, with which they present themselves to us, and create a design attitude, successfully and skillfully explored. Today like yesterday.
Milano Design Film Festival (MDFF) is an information platform, a meeting place, a place to experiment and to update one’s skills, characterised by the quality of its content and an innovative and effective ability to dialogue with a cross section of the public composed of architects, designers, enthusiasts but also by those who are simply curious in the city. The motto of MDFF is: “Learning by watching”. With regards to the widespread use and adoption of audiovisual language, MDFF selects diverse genres and filmmaking techniques (documentaries, entertainment, feature films, short films and clips) and builds a schedule of stimuli and voices including moments of discussion and workshops with designers, architects, producers, directors, critics, professors and students from Italy and the world.
