Stockholm Design Week - 2020 trends in the food industry & Italian Design Movie Night

The evening starts with "2020 trends in the food industry: a wake up call", a seminar about sustainability, social engagement and the new shape of local production in global trends. With new eating habits, new ingredients come on our plates, with a special attention to vegetables. The seminar explores the new frontier of microgreens that brings local produce directly into our homes. The seminar is held at our Institute by Food & Friends in collaboration with ICE - Italian Trade Agency Stockholm

The seminar will be followed by the vernissage of Sleipnir L Hortus, the 50th Installation of the Sleipnir Series started in 2008. Sleipnir is the legendary heigth legs Odin’s horse. Sleipnir L Hortus is a greenhouse, a sculpture in wood designed by the Italian-Swedish artist Duilio Forte and realized in front of the Institute by the artist and a group of Swedish and Italian students during the workshop "Voyager Stockholm 2020".

The evening will end with "Italian Design Movie Night", an event realized in collaboration with Milano Design Film Festival. On the occasion of the Stockholm Design Week 2020, Milano Design Film Festival brings to Stockholm - for the second year in a row - the best films about Italian design and architecture. During the evening, we are going to screen 2 films: "Sette miliardi" by Max Rommel (2014) and "L’Adelaide" by Emilio Tremolada (2018). Milano Design Film Festival (MDFF) is an information platform, a meeting place, a place to experiment and to update one’s skills, characterised by the quality of its content and an innovative and effective ability to dialogue with a cross section of the public composed of architects, designers, enthusiasts but also by those who are simply curious in the city. The motto of MDFF is: “Learning by watching”. With regards to the widespread use and adoption of audiovisual language, MDFF selects diverse genres and filmmaking techniques (documentaries, entertainment, feature films, short films and clips) and builds a schedule of stimuli and voices including moments of discussion and workshops with designers, architects, producers, directors, critics, professors and students from Italy and the world.
